Apple-Pie Spiced Cider


Tasty, tasty, tasty! I made a batch of this for Christmas Day and it was gone within a few mug fulls. I then made a second double batch a few days later and it was gone just about as quick. It was so good! How could it not with apple cider, spices, and brown sugar. Enjoy!

Apple-Pie Spiced Cider

1 1/4 quarts apple cider
3 tablespoons firmly packed light brown sugar
1 whole cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
pinch of salt
6 whole cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)

In a medium saucepan or slow cooker, whisk together cider, sugar, and 1 cinnamon stick. Mix all spices and salt; place in a coffee filter. Tie coffee filter with a string and place in cider mixture. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Remove from heat; serve in mug garnished with cinnamon stick, if desired.

Makes 6 servings
